My Surfiversary: How Surfing Saved My Life
Joy and a sense of purpose always play a key role burnout recovery. In my life, surfing became that source of joy and purpose. That’s why on February 14th I like to celebrate my “surfiversary”. To most people, it’s just Valentine’s Day. But for me, February 14, 2017, is the day I re-entered the water with my surfboard after sustaining a traumatic brain injury that had left me on the sidelines of the ocean- and LIFE- for months.
