Why making your own dressing is the key to good nutrition

I have news for you, friends: eating healthy doesn’t have to be difficult. It’s all about being prepared with wholesome foods that you actually enjoy. One thing that gets me to eat more salads and buddha bowls is a tasty dressing. That’s why I try to share as many easy dressings as I can with you, and this one’s no exception.

Yes, it’ll take a few minutes to squeeze the lime, grate the ginger and mince the garlic. Maybe five minutes. But the end result will be far superior to any store-bought dressing. If you’ve got multiple people to feed, make a double batch so you’ll have dressing all week long.

The other great thing about making your own dressing is that you control the ingredients.

Store-bought dressings usually contain lots of inflammatory preservatives and filler ingredients, and may not even use olive oil. So you’ll be able to keep out the bad stuff and use the best quality ingredients in your dressing.

But also, by making your own dressing, you can adjust the recipe to your taste. Don’t like spicy foods? Leave out the hot pepper. Want an even more tangy dressing? Add more lime juice. You get the picture. Start experimenting!

Garlic and Ginger- Good for Your Gut

Garlic and ginger are two spices that not only taste great together, but also help to heal your gut! Ginger aids in digestion, soothes your GI tract, is anti-inflammatory and anti-oxidant, and can even increase your metabolism and feelings of fullness.

Garlic comes with its own set of medicinal properties. It can help decrease blood sugar, is anti-inflammatory, and has strong antimicrobial, antifungal, and antiviral properties.

Plus they taste great together!
